Earned screen time, on the paid plan
This is the part most families come for. With the Windows PC companion installed, your child's computer opens to learning first, and screen time is something they earn by practising, or that you grant from the Command Center or your phone. Sold to you, never past your child
Your child never sees an advertisement, a purchase prompt or a paywall aimed at them. Only you can upgrade a cadet, and you do it from your own dashboard. The account and every setting belong to you.

Questions parents ask
- How much does Dad's Academy cost?
- There's a free plan with no end date. The full plan is priced per cadet, monthly or yearly (about two months free), and each additional child is 25% off. Prices are shown and charged in your local currency.
- Is there really a free plan?
- Yes. Each cadet can practise 5 questions a day in one subject, which rotates through the week, and you can see their progress and streaks. It doesn't expire and there's nothing to cancel.
- Do I need a credit card to sign up?
- No. You can create a parent account and enrol your children without a card. You'll only be asked for payment if you choose to upgrade a cadet to the full plan.
- Is there a free trial of the full plan?
- There isn't a timed trial at the moment. You can try a real question with your child at /try, with no account, and the free plan lets you use Dad's Academy for as long as you like before deciding.
- What does the full plan add?
- Unlimited daily practice in all four subjects (Math, English/Reading, Science and Life Skills), difficulty that adapts to your child in each subject, reviews that match what they covered in class that week, earned screen time on a Windows PC, and the full parent dashboard.
- Is earned screen time included in the free plan?
- No. Earned screen time is part of the full plan. It works through the Dad's Academy companion app, which runs on Windows PCs only.
- How does the sibling discount work?
- Every child in your family sits under one parent account. The first cadet on the full plan is full price, and each additional cadet is 25% off, whether you pay monthly or yearly.
- What currency will I be charged in?
- Your local currency. Prices are shown and charged in it at checkout, so there's no conversion to work out.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. The full plan renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your parent dashboard. See the Refund Policy for how refunds are handled.
- Will my child see ads or be asked to buy anything?
- No. There are no ads and no purchase prompts on your child's side of the app. Only a parent can upgrade, from the parent dashboard.
- Which ages and subjects does it cover?
- Kindergarten to Grade 9, across Math, English/Reading, Science and Life Skills. Each subject adapts on its own, so a child can be ahead in one and still building in another.
